Frank is a Partner of New Markets Venture Partners. He has over 7 years of successful venture capital experience as Partner of Bonsal Capital, LLC, a Baltimore-based private equity firm founded by Frank Bonsal, Jr., Co-Founder of NEA (New Enterprise Associates) and Red Abbey Venture Partners. Across a seven year span, Frank managed all facets of the firm’s education investing and worked in tandem with Bonsal Jr. in investments across numerous information technology and healthcare sectors. Bonsal Capital has five active co-investments with New Markets.
Per his duties with Bonsal Capital, Frank serves on the Board of Directors for Moodlerooms, Inc. and has Board Observer rights at Spectrum K12 School Solutions and Veran Medical Technologies. Frank also serves on the Peabody College Campaign Steering Committee for Vanderbilt University’s $1.75 billion Shape the Future Campaign.
Prior to joining New Markets, Frank was an Associate with Bonsal Capital and Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Education Capital Group, LLC, an education-centric boutique advisory firm serving small cap and emerging education companies and investors. Prior to Education Capital, Frank was a K-12 practitioner for fourteen years in several disciplines across seven U.S. states and three countries.
Frank graduated with Honors from the University of New Hampshire, where he majored in English Teaching. He received Master of Education and Master of Business Administration degrees from Vanderbilt University. Frank is married with three children.
